“Spend (in charity) out of the sustenance that We have bestowed on you before that time when death will come to someone, and he shall say: “O my Lord! If only you would grant me reprieve for a little while, then I would give in charity, and be among the righteous.” –
Abu Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) reported: Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) as saying: ‘When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except three; recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased).’ [Sahih Muslim – Book 13 – Hadith 4005]
